E-MARKETING & E-DISTRIBUTION

IH&RA has set up a Global Council on e-marketing & e-distribution designed to:

  • Investigate legal precedents in respective country or region where either hotels or other industries that sell product on-line have battled search engines and 3rd party on-line distributors regarding trademark infringement issues.
  • Share best practice and formulate guidelines for operating with 3rd party distributors
  • Co-ordinate efforts with other organizations that have already done significant work in this area to ensure no duplication of effort, but a united and strengthened industry initiative. IH&RA has received support and approval for this initiative from partner organizations HSMAI () and . Members of each respective association, also members of IH&RA, sit on the Global Council.
  • Identify national or regional offices of free trade and government agencies to be lobbied at the national and regional level.
  • Identify countries or regions sympathetic to product suppliers or the 3rd party on-line distributors and research legal precedents set in specific markets on trademark abuse.
  • Identify key media partners for communication purposes
