5 November 2010
HEDNA, the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association, will be holding its Winter Meeting on Dec. 6-8, 2010 at The Omni Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas. The theme of the Winter Meeting is "What's your distribution worth?" Sessions will focus on how attendees can bring more value to their distribution strategies in the coming months. Attendees will also learn about the trends impacting hotel electronic distribution and how those trends can be incorporated into business strategies. At the "Worth Distribution Session," two of the industry's most influential consultants -- Tom Botts, managing partner of Hudson Crossing, and John Burns, president of Hospitality Technology Consulting -- will discuss trends and their predictions for the future. HEDNA is pleased that Felix Laboy, president and general manager of Sabre Hospitality Solutions will give the opening keynote presentation on Dec. 7 and Michael Van Houweling, senior director of advertising, product and online marketing for Southwest Airlines, will be the closing keynote on Dec. 7. Both Laboy and Van Houweling are industry veterans with unique perspectives on the industry. What are hoteliers doing to keep growth positive and how are technology companies assisting in that growth? Attendees will discover the answers to those questions and more during the "Achieving Profitability in 2012 and Beyond" panel on Dec.7. Panelists are Ric Leutwyler, chief marketing officer, Pegasus Solutions; Roger Liew, chief technology officer, Orbitz Worldwide; Frank Reeves, chief technical officer and co-founder, Avvivo; Linda Kent, senior vice president electronic distribution, Wyndham Hotel Group; and Roland Tanner, chief operating officer, Lanyon. These committees help move the industry forward and are composed of member volunteers. HEDNA's very popular Concurrent Education Sessions will be held on Dec. 7 and 8. These sessions give attendees the opportunity to have direct access to senior managers from the hotel electronic distribution industry. These sessions enable attendees to voice their thoughts and concerns, discuss functionality issues and request future enhancements from the top providers.
