So far, December has been a good month for U.S. hotels.
For the week of Dec. 11 to 17, the average occupancy rate rose 5.9% to 49%, with the daily rate going up 4.2% to $95.35, according to STR, which tracks hotels data.
Among the Top 25 markets, New Orleans and San Diego had the largest jumps in people filling up rooms. San Francisco/San Mateo and Oahu Island, Hawaii, fared the worst.
