BOB COTTON JOINS BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF INTERNATIONAL HOTEL AND RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION
3 November 2006: Bob Cotton, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, has joined the board of directors of the Paris-based International Hotel and Restaurant Association.
"At a time when the environmental challenges facing the tourism industry are coming to the top of the agenda, the international hospitality industry has to be seen to be working together, with countries around the world
supporting each other," says Mr Cotton.
"As the British government is taking the lead on environmental issues, the British hospitality industry needs to have a voice in the IH&RA. We are already a keen supporter of two European associations - FERCO, which represents contract caterers, and HOTREC which represents hotels and restaurants. The IH&RA represent hotels and restaurants internationally and I'm sure we can make a real contribution to its discussions."
