PACIFIC ASIA TRAVEL ASSOCIATION -PATA
PATA is an umbrella organization bringing together private and public sector bodies involved in tourism in the Pacific Asian region.

PATA's mission is to enhance the growth, value and quality of Pacific Asia travel and tourism for the benefit of its membership.
Membership
- Consists of 38 national government members, over 50 state and local tourism bodies, 65 airlines and cruise lines, and more than 2,000 travel industry companies including hotels
- 17,000 travel professionals forming 79 PATA Chapters located throughout the world.
Background Founded in 1951 as an umbrella organisation for the Pacific Asia travel and tourism industry.

Fields of activity PATA offers events, market intelligence, communications, lobbying and networking via:
- Annual Conference and PATA Travel Marts
- Market Intelligence: Issues & Trends; PATA Compass; and Online Statistics
Relationship with IH&RA Relations have been on-going for many years. IH&RA & PATA cooperated in the follow-up to the Tsunami of 26 December 04 to host the attendance of a Tsunami affected professional at ITB Berlin Tourism Fair in March 2005. PATA CEO was a key panellist at IH&RA’s 2005 Annual Congress in Beijing in October 2005.
