WORLD TRAVEL & TOURISM COUNCIL - WTTC
WTTC is the only body representing the private sector in all parts of the Travel & Tourism industry worldwide.

WTTC's mission is to raise awareness of the full economic impact of the world's largest generator of wealth and jobs - Travel & Tourism. Governments are encouraged to unlock the industry's potential by adopting the Council's policy framework for sustainable tourism development Blueprint for New Tourism.
Membership WTTC is the forum for global business leaders comprising the presidents, chairs and CEOs of 100 of the world's foremost companies in all sectors of the industry, including accommodation, catering, entertainment, recreation, transportation and other travel-related services.
Background Founded in 1990 with support from American Express. Geoffrey Lipman was its founding President until 1999.

Mode of Operation
- WTTC policies are set and implemented by a 15 Member Executive Committee, a President and a small staff in London, with representative offices in Latin America, Central & Eastern Europe, Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, Australia, Africa and North America.

Headquarters London.
Relationship with IH&RA IH&RA and WTTC have worked closely together over the years, eg collaborating in crisis committees formed after 11 September 2001, and mutually supporting each other’s initiatives via communication work. WTTC and IH&RA are mutually represented at each other’s major annual event – congress and summit. A Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations was renewed in 2000 and a Marketing Agreement signed in 2005.
